How long will my portrait session take?
We usually advise you to allow 1 to 1 1/2 hours, although Carol does work quickly as babies and children have a short attention span! The actual shoot will probably only take around a 1/2 hour. We allow extra time in case the baby needs changing or feeding or is unsettled. With larger and extended families we may need the whole hour to photograph different combinations eg. kids with grandparents or all the cousins together etc.
What should we wear?
Plain solid colours usually work best with large groups, but it's important to wear what you feel comfortable in and shows your family's personality. When you book your session we talk to you about what might work best with the location and send out some information for you.
Do you have packages?
We do have portrait collections which are great value if you are purchasing several portraits. These start at $975.00.
What is the best age to have my baby photographed?
If you would like to show how small & delicate your newborn baby is, then probably the first month to 6 weeks is the best. If you want smiles and more personality then usually 3 months is good. However, any time is a good time as they are always growing and changing, and you can't go back in time once they are big kids!
Where do you recommend we have our portraits taken?
With babies, we usually recommend our studio as we have beautiful natural light and are set up to photograph babies. Once babies are sitting up or walking, the beach, park or in your backyard can work really well. We have several locations that are ideal for family portraits. We do like to get your ideas and find out what kind of things your family like to do, so that the portraits reflect your family's personality.
Who will take our portraits?
Your portraits will be taken by Carol, so you know you will have a very experienced master photographer looking after you and your family.
